1. Are the boats available in different colors?
A. White is the only color available at this time, but special orders of 10 or more boats could be made in other colors.
2. How much do the different models cost?
A. Please contact Sea Lark Sales by telephone or e-mail for the latest pricing.
3. How do I charge the battery in the electric models?
A. Standard 120 volt house current is used. The built-in charger shows you when the battery is fully charged.
4. What kind of battery is used?
A. Batteries are not included in the pricing. The batteries must be sealed either wet cell or AGM (absorbed glass mat) Deep Cycle Marine type batteries. The size must be Group 27. Sea Lark Sales will quote the purchase and installation of batteries or you can purchase them from a battery supply store.
5. Do these boats have to be registered with the state government or US Coast Guard?
A. The regulations vary in each state. Please contact your state government offices to find out if human powered or electric boats are required to be registered.
6. What are the environmental benefits of using Nauticraft boats?
A. The pedal models and electric models do not put any pollutants in the water or in the air through operation. The drives of these boats are so quiet that animals are not frightened away by the noise that is found by operating gasoline and diesel engines. Crystal clear lakes like Lake Tahoe can remain that way while you enjoy being on the water.
7. How long is the warranty?
A. Two years except for damage caused by accident, abuse or neglect. Nauticraft will repair or replace any parts that fail due to defects in material or workmanship, except the Drive Belt.
8. How long does the battery charge last on electric models?
A. The time varies from 2-5 hours or longer, depending on the speed of operation.
9. How difficult is it to climb back into the boats after swimming?
A. Escapade and Encore models have built-in swim platforms with non-skid surfaces. Built-in grasp handles make it easy to pull yourself aboard from the water.
10. Will these boats accumulate rain water if left uncovered?
A. Sprite and Encore models have a self-draining design, which allows water in the boat to flow out without any action by the user. Escapade models have a built-in hand operated pump to remove water from the inside.
